Give God Something To Work With

Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”  Jeremiah 1:12NKJV

Many times in life we find ourselves in different situations – sometimes good and other times challenging.  In times of challenge we need God to move in our favor.  It could be a life and death situation, but then it may be a less grave situation.  Regardless, when we pray we must pray in faith if we want Him to answer. Hebrews 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please God because he that comes to God must believe He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  You can just petition God and not believe He will answer.  A lot of people are doing a whole lot of petitioning God and very little “believing” God will reward or answer their prayers.

Jeremiah 1:12 tells us that God is “ready” to perform His word.  The Hebrew word for “ready” in this verse (shaqad) means watching, waking, hastening, anticipating, to be sleepless, alert, vigilant, on the lookout, to care for watchfully.  There is, then, no doubt that God is looking for His word.  In other words, He is looking for someone who is believing, speaking, and standing on His promises.  In verse 11 of this same chapter Jeremiah saw the branch of an almond tree.  Understand the symbolism here as it relates to God and His word.  The almond tree blossoms early, in essence, watching diligently for an opportunity to bloom.  Thus, like the almond tree,  God is looking for an opportunity to perform His word!  We must give Him something to work with, child of God.  You have to open your mouth and declare what God has promised so that He can reward your diligence.  Give Him your faith-filled words to work with.

Make a conscious decision to get into the word of God and get a new vocabulary that is laced with God’s words. When you do, you will give Him something to work with and that will change your entire life.
